Head to toe Layered Sleekness Magically Appears at NYFW AW15

NYFW AW15 has gotten me excited.  For so long NYFW became sloppy and immature.  Today they got their act together.  Out with children's wear and in with Women's Wear.  Ahh, a return to true Ready to Wear for Women.  Layers, oh how I love layers.  These looks that I chose are so chic it makes me smile from ear to ear.  The rich color palette with a put together modern sleekness hit the right notes.  It has youthfulness without immaturity.  Finally we get to grow up ladies.  Besides being a woman is one of the sexiest thing a female can be.  Looks go clockwise.

BCBG - Lubov & Max delved into their classic BCBG silhouettes of flowing modern femininity.  I see Lubov reaching into her Eastern European roots in the prints and cut of the long sleeveless vest.  Turtlenecks are back and they look new with a layered look.  I love the mid thigh boots which are nicely done.  I love how sensual and easy this look presents itself.  BCBG create clothes that women can actually live in and look put together every time.

Richard Chai - This is not a designer I generally find things that catch my eye but this look jumped off the runway at me.  The bright winter gray colored dress with a semi full knee length skirt and the black chiffon full long sleeve with a French type cuff that covers the hand is sooooooo lovely and fresh.  Now let me point out the cowl neck shrug in a medium dusty gray with black stripe (Outlander).  This is superb!!!!!!  Black tights with a platform lace up boot is very cheeky.  Loved the pulled back hair with headband in black.

Costello Tagliapietra - Wow this lines name is a mouth full.  The AW Collection is Yumminess!  I love the 1970s nod here in layers and colors.  However, it's just a wink of retro.  This is an almost futuristic contemporary look.  The pink  & russet stripped turtle neck under the brown with black detail dress that has an almost wrap dress effect in front is on my must get list for AW15.  This type of dress can truly go so many places and will always be right.  How much can I say I love the dusky lavender shiny tights with the platform above ankle sleek boots!   Again notice the sleeked back hair.

Tome - This is a new line which turned it out for NYFW AW15.  The collection was very forward with an air of confident modernism.  This look of Box Retro Style Jacket in white that sets over a russet red dress with a peekaboo lace hem that sets at new length a ways below knee but not really mid-calf (very 1990s skirt length) is for the modern woman.  Notice the turtle neck here as well.  Not crazy about pumps but these look irresistible.  The square shape shades were a perfect choice to set off this look.

Ok, breakdown of headgear ladies.  It's almost like giving a play by of a sports event.  Strong statement is finally starting to emerge in ready to wear headwear.  For many seasons past the, headwear was more of a runway add on than an actual this is what is in in hat and hair accessory for AW.  But now designers are starting to understand blending the hat with the over all look.  Looks from left to right.

Creatures of The Wind - Again not one of my fav lines but this look with the large brim early 20th Century Cloche is very progressive and yet wearable.  Such a spectacular look that reads down the body.  This type of hat is so stunning and not obtrusive.  Gives sophistication with a sexy flair.

Honor - This dark blue lace dress is unbelievably stunning.  The purple shinny tights with the sandals is a refreshing femie look for AW.  OK the HEADBAND IN SILVER.  Notice how again sleek back hair and pushing the headband forward.  This is a wide shiny silver almost 1960s Futuro look.  Every woman should get this.

Josie Natori & Ellen Christine Millinery - Josie Natori is more known for lingerie but that will change now.  Her AW15 line was so elegant.  New York Milliner Ellen Christine chose the right stove pipe toque in blocked felts for the hat.  This particular hat is very turn of the century ala 19th to 20th Century.  This type of hat was popular with Parisian women from about 1909-1920.  It has a bit of Russian look to it.  Very rich and I love it so much.

And so it all begins.  I love Fashion Weeks, especially now in a world so full of turmoil.  Fashion begets fresh starts and unity.

Cheers!
