Floral Finery at Spring Summer 2015 Paris Couture Week

Today class let's talk about flowers!  I love floral headpieces and dresses.  They are Spring & Summer.  My picks for today encompass a cheeky romantic beautiful look.  Lovely blues and aquas caught my eye on the runways today.  And rich fabrics with embroidery to prints. Lace has been seen throughout the week and I love it!

Tony Ward - This new couturier wowed the socks off of me.  The whole collection was so extraordinarily divine.  The light blue chiffon with slit opening is dreamy.  The openV front and embroidered floral middle has been very popular for Haute Couture.

Frank Sorbier - Me thinks the Fae were his muse for this collection.  Faerie princess would be all to happy to wear these lovely creations.  This floral dress with almost painterly print dress is surreal and sumptuous.  I love the treatment of handmade flowers on the bodice.

Valentino - A collection full of detail and regal richness.  This particular mint green dress with gold lace, floral and brocade body is exquisite to say the least.  The A line full length skirt plays off the delicate sheer lace top.  Pure beauty.

Victor & Rolf - This line was a breath of fresh air in Haute Couture Week.  They always know how to put extreme fashion to a test and come out on top.  This swing dress with frou frou petticoats above the knee shouts with gladness.  The big floral print of aqua and yellow very 1960s but oh so modern fairytale.  Again, it's like the fae inspired this line.

Now for the headwear.  Today was about headpieces.  Mostly runway pieces.  But they were so well executed I am mentioning them.Viktor & Rolf get my Hurrah of approval for their straw hat headpieces.  They took classic hats and went there with unfinished over exaggerated brims - LOVE!  Frank Sorbier add just the right quirky messy hair do with floral crowns but in a unkempt style - AWESOME!

Romance with cheek walked the runway with a royal how do you do today.  CONGRATS on a great day Couturiers!

Ciao!
