A bit of 1960s darlings and chic starts my faves for #LFW Spring Summer 2016. Skirts build a wardrobe and the right ones build confidence and enhance an attractive look. These designers took inspirations for a modern woman.
Mary Katrantzou sent a funky fine collection down the London Town Runway for her SS16 line. I love this easy casual but dressy hipster skirts in black with tie. The fun purple/blue high collar sleeveless blouse adds the right bit of pizazz. The long vest that is open and breezy is wonderful.
Daks brought it for the hippie chic new Chelsea Girl. The suedes were divine. This dark sand colored suede below knee slim but not pencil skirt with front flap pockets and wide self belt is on my gotta get it. The beautiful cut blouse with a blue light dusty purple print adds a fantastic color contrast and whimsy. The matching suede mary janes right on!
Holly Fulton knows about dressing women. This flouncy skirt in blue wave print is fun and yet sexy with an asymmetrical light blue solid fabric hip to waist fantastic!!! The top with the same blue continuing up into top with black on top gives a retro futuristic vibe. This plum boxy bolero style jacket with floral geometric appliques is outrageously beautiful. The sky high platforms in a burnt orange with the wave print on the platform is a very flirty funky fun.
Duro Olowu knows how to combine sensational prints. I love mixing prints and this collection did it beautifully. The full gathered skirt in a bright solid blue creates a zowee focal point. Mustard yellow and dark brown print top under the gray black geometric cardi in a tight slim version is superb!!! The socks and the satin blue print platforms bring it together.
London started off with many designers experimenting. Seems they are trying to find something new. But it was the designers that utilized rich couture history and brought those ideas to present that won me over. A little fashion magic.
Cheers!
