Today on #HeathersHatStyle, I am featuring the medium to large brim floppy cloche. Cloches really started to come into Vogue during the early 20th Century. They say Coco Chanel made them stylish and chic. Before Coco really made it, Paul Poiret was the most popular Couture Designer. Many women who wore his bohemian creations wore a type of turban or toque which was the first showing of a bell shaped hat. Today the cloche is as popular as ever. But most women think of the 1920s cloche. This was worn when women cut off their hair and wore the helmet type cloches low on the forehead. During the 1960s/70s the cloche returned and became more floppy. Today the boho look is very popular. My outfit today combines a rocker boho look with a Chanel style.

I love this look it's always spot on especially in Fall. Square toe ballet flats are much more flattering on my feet. Notice how these jeans are very long and I tuck the hem into the shoe. This medium brim cloche is a cut and sew version of a blocked one. The floppy will move more but again this won't ever loose it's shape. Cut & sew hats are great in that if you are out and waqnt to take it off, you can just throw it in your bag and then pull it out again when you need to put it on. My hair is just naturally down and forward. Makeup is a very retro early 1960s look. White with blue eye with heavy black liner. Rose cheeks and a light pink lip. Natural nails.
For AW 2015/16 I created a newer boho floppy with a bit bigger brim in denim and it is so dishy.
This is the Foxy Lady Denim Hat. Dark wash denim boho floppy brim cloche with a medium large brim. The middle sash is in the contrasting side of the denim. I was thinking of Audrey Hepburn when I created this lovely hat. It's available in the shop just click on the hat to get to the listing.
Well that's my daily dose of Hat Style Tips. Floppies are hot and fun. Again they can be worn casual to funky dressy.
Cheers!
