A New Fluid Forward Fashion for Paris Ready To Wear First Day
Paris put the Chi in Chic. A new Bohemian is emerging from the Salons
of Haute Couture and New Designers. Haute Couture re-invents and then ready to wear makes it wearable. The favs today seem to be taking ques from Couture and Parisienne Style. Clockwise:
Devastee - A new line for me. The looks were relaxed and somehow a bit grunge but true Chic. This large black knit cardigan with textured sleeve treatment is yummy. The black slim knee length skirt with white rose sketched style print adds an element of surprise. Black opaque hosiery with flat black shoes are in with current trends but I would prefer the platforms.
Pascal Millet - Beautiful!!! collection from Pascal Millet. A new body con is evolving. It reveals but does not over do it. Fluidity in fabrics with structure on top in a jacket is Marvelous. Love the leopard print with the gray. Again black hosiery but a rad leopard print black leather pointed toe over ankle boot. The black fur neck wrap in a large turtleneck style makes it come together beautifully.
Christine Phung - Christine Phung had a futuristic of sorts presentation. Key pieces of color or grays. This gray skirt and top in light shimmering fabrics is darling. The chiffon skirt in a gathered but slim skirt is finished with a top in silver gray silk with a bit of retro feel. The white belt not crazy about. Love the black scalloped peeking out of the v-neck top. Simple black boots ok but think matching gray suede would have been better.
Anthony Vaccarello - Love the casual but dressy sexiness to this dress. The fringe sticking out of the high slit from the wrap front of the dress is daring sort of like a new flapper girl look. The dress is a sleeveless long coat style with a rock n roll edge. The small detail in the front waist is futuristic. Socks with ankle boots is fun with a more serious look.
A couple of hat styles caught my Mad Hatter Eye. Devastee kept it simple and very Parisian black beret on back of head like a snood. Love this all black pant and sweater top a new beatnik look. Pascal Millet added a matching gray hat to the beautiful gray draped dress (sort of a Madeline Vionnet Modern short dress). This hat is a bit of jockey style with soft top and crisp brim. Those brown gray suede pant boots are divine.
Day 1 did not disappoint. Get ready ladies for more from Paris!
Bon Jour!
