Women want to be powerful in this 21st Century but we don't want to give up our femininity to do it. In the 1980s women were told to cut their hair & get power suits to be more masculine. Now is a time for women to find power in looking like a woman. These London designers created looks that embrace a more futuristic silhouette with a style that is defining a new woman's ready to wear. Dresses are more everyday wear with pants.
Thomas Tait sent out a small but powerful collection. Simple color scheme of white, black and browns. This fantastic white halter dress over slim stovepipe jeans is really groovey baby. It reminds me a bit of Cardin 1969. I love how the circles have geometric sheer embroidered centers.
Roksanda too sent down a small but impactful collection. The color combos of light blue, white, burnt yellow & white with rims of black is very poppy and brilliant. I love the shirt collar and ankle length of the dress. Again a ballooning sleeve treatment and bell out at ends that hit the wrist is exciting. The look is fresh powee in fashion!
Erdem took a very romantic floral print and dress in a new direction. A bit of 1970s but it's modern. The matching coat seems just right. Again very powerful design. The rose color simply lovely.
So women are finding a new way to dress and it is about time. Let's embrace the future. Be inspired by the past. Create a new fashion.
Cheers!
